Riley places 6th in 200 breaststroke
At the Eastern Zone Championship, Rex Riley dropped a second from prelims in his 200 breaststroke to take sixth in 2:18.84. He was 10th in the 200 IM, clocking 2:05.27.
His 27.92 breaststroke split helped the Allegheny Mountain 13-14 200 medley relay to a sixth place, 1:43.41.
Riley qualifies 7th in 200 breaststroke
MIST’s Rex Riley swam a 2:19.15 200 breaststroke in preliminaries at the Eastern Zone Championship to make it back tonight, Friday. He was eighth after prelims in the 200 IM with a 2:05.90.
His 50 free time of 23.58 put him 11th after prelims.
Riley wins Zones 100 breast
Representing the Allegheny Mountain All-Star Team, Rex Riley won the 13-14 100 breaststroke at the Eastern Zone Championship in Rochester today. His time was 1:00.78. He split a 50.58 in Allegheny Mountain’s fifth place 400 free relay.

New website ready for launch
The all-new Millcreekswim.com website survived it’s beta launch today with only a few minor glitches, meaning it will be ready to go prime time later this week. Look for it. Four months of work, during the heavy part of the high school season, and your coach/webmaster is on cloud nine!
Riley seeded first at Zone Meet
Rex Riley is seeded first in the 13-14 100 breaststroke at the Eastern Zone All-Star meet which starts this week. Good luck Rex. The meet is in Rochester, NY from March 29-31.
Sign up by April 11 for 1st long course meet
The Dan Mazzei Sprint meet at the University of Pittsburgh kicks off the long course season on the weekend of April 28-29. Events are mainly 50’s for 12 and unders and 100’s for 13 and ups. Entries are due to Coach Schultz by Wednesday April 11. Lazenby swims 52.97
Shanen Lazenby qualified for consols in the 100 free at the PIAA State Championships with a personal best 52.97.
It is the fourth fastest 100 time in McDowell history.

Amazing swimmers honored at McDowell banquet
A most amazing team was honored and the McDowell Swimming and Diving Awards banquet, March 25, at the Erie Yacht Club, with several swimmers taking home special awards.

Swabb breaks 400 IM Record
Emma Swabb swam a 4:43.22 in the 400 IM at the Penn Hills Last Splash meet, breaking the MIST record by 10 seconds.
The old mark was 4:53.38 set by Lauren Shuttleworth in 2000.
McDowell places 7th
With 89 points, McDowell placed seventh at the PIAA Championship.
Lazenby 15th in 100 free
Shanen Lazenby placed 15th in the 100 free with a 53.21.
Intrieri & Snyder make it back
Kevin Intrieri made finals and Zack Snyder made consols in the 100 free at the PIAA Championships.
Intrieri swam 46.13 and Snyder went 47.09.
McDowell men in fourth
Zack Snyder and Kevin Intrieri placed 6th and 8th in the 50 free and the Trojan 200 free relay won consols to push McDowell into 4th place after the first day.
McDowell has 70 points going into Thursdays events.
Snyder, Intrieri, Andrew Steehler and Jonathan Ekas’s time in consols would have placed 5th in the final heat.

Jon Ekas, Andrew Steehler, Zack Snyder and Kevin Intrieri took 5th in the 200 medley relay with an All-American time of 1:34.86.

Jenny Karsh dropped 12 seconds on Saturday to place second in the 500 free at the AAA District Championship. Her 5:42.01 was a lifetime best.

McDowell women win 17th straight D-10 title
A District Ten and Behrend pool record in the 400 free relay punctuated a 625 point bonanza which more than doubled the score of runner-up Meadville.
Danielle Snyder, Mia Izzo, Julia Rahner and Shanen Lazenby set the new mark of 3:37.24.

The men’s AAA District score is actually: McDowell 347 - Prep 343. The Erie Times had the wrong score because they did not include the 200 free relay.
